About North East Community Development Council

The North East CDC is headed by Mayor Teo Ser Luck and the district comprises of 3 Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) and a Single Member Constituency (SMC). They are the Pasir Ris-Punggol, Tampines and Aljunied GRCs and Hougang SMC respectively. The North East CDC serves a population of over 784, 000 residents. |
The CDC is responsible for promoting social cohesion through community self-help. It actively enhances community bonding efforts and strengthen social infrastructure and services within the North East district of Singapore to improve the quality of life of its residents. This is done through Assisting the Needy, Bonding the People and Connecting the Community.

The Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) is a non-profit charitable organisation at the forefront of the battle against cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke) in Singapore. Since its inception in 1970, the Foundation has grown into a well-established and reputable organisation with local and international links. |
SHF fulfils its mission through educational programmes promoting heart health to the public. SHF supports community-based research to better understand the landscape of cardiovascular disease in Singapore. SHF also focuses on rehabilitative and preventive care for recovering heart patients and at-risk individuals. In addition, SHF offers financial assistance to needy heart patients for treatment as well as emergency relief.

Symbolised by the little red dress, the campaign aims to empower women – who are the gatekeepers to the family’s health – with the right knowledge and tools so that they can take better care of their hearts and their families. |

About Family Life Champion

A Family Life Champion (FLC) is a grassroots leader appointed by the Adviser and the Citizens' Consultative Committee (CCC) Chairman in the constituency to champion and promote family life in the community. Family life includes singles, married couples, young parents, grandparents and the role of men in the family.
With the appointment of 84 FLCs since March 2005, there is a conscious effort in the community to recognise and celebrate family life. FLCs are well-positioned to champion the promotion of family life in the community because they are community leaders and work very closely with the residents to serve the constituency. Currently, more than 40 FLCs are also Licensed Solemnisers to champion the notion of celebrating marriages.
